Wow, it has been awhile since our last blog post. With the holidays and trying to gear up for our upcoming fundraiser on March 12th, time has been limited and just flying by!
I just wanted to send out an update about our upcoming basketball fundraiser, which will feature the Harlem Ambassadors, a comedic, traveling, basketball showcase.
We are deep in the planning phase for this fundraiser and are currently focusing our efforts on obtaining sponsorships to help cover some of the costs of hosting the team, as well as recruiting community members to be on our team. We are hoping to put together a team of approximately 15-20 members, and basketball skills are NOT needed! This show is meant to be a fun event and features two quarters that will be fun and slow-paced, and two quarters that will be more competitive. If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in playing on our team, please let me know! Also, if you have any ideas for sponsorships, or would like to offer a sponsorship from your own business, let me know that as well!
We are also redeveloping our tutoring program, and are hoping to obtain grants or in-kind donations to help provide materiasl and training for our tutors. If you have any ideas of different ways to go about developing this program, or would like to offer any help with this project, we would welcome any comments and help.
